This notice explains what personal information Elemental Tuition Ltd collects through this website and when arranging tuition, why we collect it, who we share it with and the rights you have. Elemental Tuition Ltd is the data controller.

When you enquire through the website, we collect the details you give us: your name, email address and phone number, your child's level, subject and exam board, and anything you write in your message.

When you sign up for our monthly email, we collect your email address and the fact that you agreed to receive it.

When a family goes ahead with lessons, we collect the parent and student details needed to arrange lessons and send invoices, through our registration form. During tuition we keep notes on progress and the work set and marked.

When a tutor applies to work with us, we collect their contact details, the subjects and levels they teach, their teaching status and experience, and their message.

We only ask for the information we need. Please don't send us more about your child than is needed to arrange lessons.

To reply to your enquiry and talk about tuition. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps you ask for before an agreement.

To arrange and teach lessons, match students with tutors, keep progress records and send invoices. Our lawful basis is the contract with you.

To send our monthly email. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.

To consider tutor applications. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in recruiting tutors, and taking steps before an agreement.

To keep financial records and meet safeguarding duties. Our lawful basis is legal obligation, and in an emergency, protecting someone's vital interests.

We never sell your information. We share it only with the people and services that help us run Elemental Tuition:

Hostinger, which hosts this website and stores enquiries. TutorBird, which holds student records, lesson schedules and invoices. Pencil Spaces, our online classroom and Google Classroom, our resources platform. The tutor matched with your child, who receives only the details needed to teach. Our accountant and other professional advisers, where needed.

If you contact us by email or WhatsApp, those services also handle your messages. Some providers may store information outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.

Enquiries that don't lead to lessons are deleted after 12 months.

Records for families we teach are kept while lessons continue, then for 6 years after the last invoice, for tax and accounting purposes.

Email sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe.

Tutor applications we don't take forward are deleted after 6 months.

Most of our students are under 18. We collect their information from their parent or guardian, and use it only to arrange and teach lessons and to keep them safe. Students aged 18 and over can contact us directly about their own information.

This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies, and doesn't use analytics. Our fonts and images load from our own server.

If you sign in to the website's editing area, which only Elemental Tuition staff use, one essential cookie keeps you signed in. Embedded forms from TutorBird may set their own cookies.

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to limit how we use it, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy to move elsewhere. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
